One of the hardest lessons I have had to learn is how to shut up. I love to talk. I love learning, and I know that speaking with people will give me experience to back up the knowledge that I am obtaining through books and other media. A lot of the time, when we choose to defend ourselves after we have spent the time taking it silently, out of fear of confrontation, when we start to speak up, we start to speak from a wounded place, and it leads to what we fear: escalation.
